Horses have always been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Horses & God taught me how to have real love. What a blessing they have been to me.
Most of my childhood was spent riding in rodeos, on trails and anything that would allow me to be on a horse.
I maybe one of the few people that can say I rode my horse to church. My heart horse, Sonny carried me any miles every week to a safe haven that would change my life in every aspect. To say horses are my life is an understatement.
I now have a daughter who naturally loves horses as much as I do. We have had the pleasure to continue having horses be a part of our military family.
Rune was brought into our herd in December of 2023. He is such a blessing. When I was a little girl, my first horse was named Wimpy Bear Rose. She was a 1978 AQHA Mare. I had been on a search for the last few years looking for Wimpy's bloodlines. I eventually decided it wasnt the path we needed to go. Rune was trade for AQHA Mare Sally (Peponitas Top Deck) who was a deployment gift from Nathan in 2006. Sally surprised us all. She was a buckskin that turned grey. She is your very definition of a moody mare. It was a hard decision to let her go, but I knew it was time she found a place that she would be used. To our unplanned suprise, Rune ended up having both Wimpy and Sally's bloodlines. God knows my heart sooooo WELL!
Rosie is a super smart and fun horse to be around horse. We recently acquired this filly in 2021. Rosie and Atalee will grow up together in life. Rosie is what we need for2 healing the scars of 20years of military hardship.
Freya is from one favorite friends. A friend that even today, means so much. Freya is a full sister to Rosie. They are very hard to tell apart from a distance. Even their attitudes match!
Hopefully, I am not too old to train these three!
I am more than grateful for what God has given me with these three super-sized goats.
2024 is a year of change for us with the horses. I look forward to trails and training again!
We are not exactly sure how Rosie found her way into the goat pen. No doubt this mare is always thinking about something to get into that she shouldn't.
Rune is beginning to fit right in with everyone!
Freya is really coming along for a 3yr old!
I am sure I will think of something.
