PSALM 68:1
May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him.
We moved to Alabama in the spring on 2021. Nearing retirement from the military life brought us to buy a farm. Our farm was empty. We were scrolling online through Craigslist and found baby goats for sell and that is how we first met LuLu! We fell in love with her and her brother. So we bought a third goat...Schwalbe...Now we have nine. Yeah, we are goat crazy people. No regrets.
Goats are very affectionate and loving animals. Goats have been known to help people with PTSD or any type of traumatic experience. Goats may not be the obvious choice for a pet over the traditional cat or dog. Goats are gentle with children and are loyal, caring and playful, behaving similarly to a dog.
These funny and delightful creatures can even cheer you up when you’re sad with their playful jumps. Keep in mind that goats are herd animals and while they will sometimes bond with other farm animals, they will do best if they have one of their own with them.
Goats are ruminants, or mammals that digest roughage by chewing, partially digesting, regurgitating and then chewing it some more.
Because goats are ruminants, the majority of feed goats consume should be roughage. This includes "browse" such as shrubs and woody plants, and also forage, such as hay and pasture.
Goats are very smart and love to play around. Patch is soaking up the love as Annie holds him in our lap.
